Esports Integrity Commission Issues Three-Year Ban to Player for Corruption Violations

Recent developments in the esports world have revealed significant consequences for one player involved in severe misconduct.

Recently, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) disclosed that Ilya Chernychenko, known as Ganginho, faces a three-year suspension from participating in any competitive events. This ban results from investigations which established his breach of integrity rules linked to corruption and gambling.

As a result of these findings, Ganginho will be barred from all ESIC-affiliated competitions until December 2027. His disqualification extends to all roles, whether as a competitor, coach, manager, broadcaster, or any other capacity.

Moreover, PGL has also decided to impose restrictions on him, affirming that he is prohibited from entering their tournaments due to similar infractions regarding corruption and betting. This latest ruling suggests a more severe nature of the ban, with no specified duration indicating it might be a lifelong disqualification.

While Ganginho hasn’t gained widespread recognition and has mainly participated in the lower tiers of Counter-Strike 2, this extensive ban is likely to hinder his prospects within the esports community moving forward, casting shadows over his future in the competitive gaming scene.
