New Marvel Comics Series "Jedi Knights" Set to Explore the Prequel Era Adventures of the Jedi

Marvel Comics has thrilling news for Star Wars enthusiasts with the announcement of a new ongoing series set in the beloved galaxy far, far away. Titled Jedi Knights, this new adventure will focus on the valiant members of the Jedi Order during the times prior to The Phantom Menace.

This update was unveiled during the "Star Wars: Stories From a Galaxy Far, Far Away" panel at NYCC. The writing is in the capable hands of Marc Guggenheim, known for his work on Han Solo & Chewbacca, while the art is brought to life by Madibek Musabekov, who has previously contributed to the Star Wars series.

The new series boasts a diverse cast of characters, encompassing familiar Jedi from the Prequel era like Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Mace Windu, and Shaak Ti, alongside fresh faces. Count Dooku also appears, as the storyline occurs before his shift from the Jedi Order to the dark side.

Each installment will spotlight various pairs of Jedi characters, interlinked by a central conflict throughout the series. Marvel has hinted that a significant mystery will unfold, centering around Qui-Gon facing a dire threat.

Editor Mark Paniccia expressed confidence in the series, stating that Marc and Madibek would start off with a thrilling first issue featuring a cliffhanger that promises an exhilarating sequence of events featuring beloved Jedi. He emphasized the unprecedented level of lightsaber action within these comics.

Jedi Knights #1 is set to make its debut in March 2025, generating anticipation for what lies ahead. Fans are eager to hear more about Marvel's broader plans for the Star Wars universe in 2025, particularly since the publisher has recently concluded their ongoing series of Star Wars and Darth Vader comics, set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Currently, Marvel is releasing a trilogy of limited series titled The Battle of Jakku, chronicling the climactic struggle between the Rebellion and the Empire. Speculation among fans suggests that Marvel may follow this series with a new lineup focused on the New Republic era, though details remain under wraps at this time.

Earlier at NYCC, Marvel also announced The Rise of Emperor Doom, a crossover event in the Marvel Universe beginning in February 2025. For ongoing updates, check our comprehensive summary of the announcements at NYCC.
