Producer Hopes for Hideo Kojima Reunion Despite Challenges from Fans on Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater

The Metal Gear Solid Δ producer has expressed a strong desire to collaborate with Hideo Kojima. Konami recently launched a video series named METAL GEAR—PRODUCTION HOTLINE to promote the upcoming remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater.

In this series, key figures in the production team answer questions from fans. The video strikes a notably candid tone, especially as it addresses the series' somewhat tarnished reputation following Kojima's departure. Producer Noriaki Okamura shares his responses to the intense feedback received from the community.

Okamura acknowledges the harsh critiques, revealing it must have been a humbling experience. Despite this, the team appears to maintain a positive outlook and would be eager to work with Kojima again, provided he is open to such collaboration in the future.

When asked about the possibility of reuniting with any original team members, Okamura clarified that he couldn’t speak for others outside the company. However, personally, he expressed a heartfelt desire to reunite with Kojima and the original team, describing it as a dream scenario. He also recognized that many might have moved on and emphasized that the new team has the responsibility to produce a quality game.
